Hill’s Pet Nutrition partners with Butler Schein Animal Health and Webster Veterinary to expand reach
TOPEKA, Kan. (Feb. 7, 2011) — Today, Hill’s Pet Nutrition announced a new partnership with Butler Schein™ Animal Health and Webster Veterinary in an effort to help spread awareness among veterinarians and their health care teams about nutritional assessments.
In the United States, only one in 10 pets that need the benefits of a therapeutic pet food are fed one.1 Compliance research confirms that the biggest opportunity to communicate with pet owners about proper pet nutrition is through increased veterinary and healthcare team recommendations.2
"Greater coverage and reach will ultimately help increase the number of pets that receive a nutritional recommendation, which will have a tremendously positive impact on their health and well-being," said Kostas Kontopanos, president of Hill’s U.S. "We are very pleased to join forces with two of the largest national veterinary distributors. They will help us better serve our veterinary customers, as well as improve veterinary practice health."
The American Animal Hospital Association recommends the AAHA Nutritional Assessment Guidelines for Dogs and Cats, which urge veterinarians to make a nutritional recommendation for every pet during every visit.
This partnership with Butler Schein Animal Health and Webster Veterinary will enable both Hill’s and its partners to reach more veterinary clinics more quickly and strengthen that connection across the nation.
The partnership will take effect in April with all Hill’s customers in the following states:
